- A Letter For Rosie
In an attempt to decide whether to focus on her career or her relationship, Karli Metcalf decides to chance both on a whim. Moving her life, what little she has, across the country to rural NSW, she starts working as a governess, in rural New South Wales, living with complete strangers.
As she reunites with former mates and befriends like-minded people, Karli finds herself enjoying the shenanigans of station life.
Now settled into the perfect life, she is rocked with news that will tear her world apart.
As she grapples with what is at stake, will the chances Karli took on love and life be worth it? Or has she gone too far and lost everything?
Rose Thompson has the world at her fingertips. She has a doting husband, a brand new baby and the family farm, Buttai. Set in a beautiful country suburb of New South Wales, Buttai is equipped with everything to turn a small fortune. With blood, sweat and tears from previous generations, Buttai has become their haven. But as nights roll into days, it’s only a matter of time before life takes a toll on the new family. Things begin to spiral out of control, and before long the past comes back to visit her, threatening to rip everything apart.
Samuel Thompson, a firefighter and farmer, is a hardworking, committed and humorous young man. As his pager sounds, he races to the demands of his job, hail or shine, night or day. Dressed in yellow, he meets Laine, a student nurse, also captivated by the adrenaline of saving lives. By accident, their paths cross and flames ignite.
Generations apart, the Thompson family spiral in and out of tragedy, love and hardship, one common theme bringing them back together; family.
Will it take the past and present colliding to save their future?
Australian born, in the Hunter Valley of New South Wales, Kelly has had a love of rural life from a very young age.
She have lived and worked in outback towns, working as a Youth Worker,Governess and in Employment Services. She has drawn on these experiences and has been able to share them in a fictional manner.
Kelly is a mother of two beautiful boys Maverick and Kohan, and adding to her rural experiences, her husband, Matt, is a hard-working and loving farmer. For the past three years, (and being a stay at home mum) they have farmed cattle, potatoes, poppies and lucerne on the North West of Tasmania.
"When I was a child, I remember drawing and creating books in pencil - it has been a dream of mine since then! I am so very fortunate to have the opportunity to share with you both my love and creativity I have carried my entire life."
Sharing her stories with like-minded readers has been her end goal.
"Thank you from the bottom of my heart for supporting my life-long dream.
~ A happy rural wife x "
